CEW Foundation honors Pantene Pro-V

at annual Beauty of Giving Luncheon

NEW YORK, December 11, 2007 –Cosmetic Executive Women Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CEW, honored Pantene Pro-V at The Beauty of Giving Luncheon. The charitable event was held on December 7th at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York.  The Luncheon is a fundraising event for Cancer and Careers, a CEW Foundation Program that provides support for working women with cancer, and their employers. The beauty industry has been a primary supporter of Cancer and Careers and its mission to change the face of cancer in the workplace since the program’s inception in 2001.

The annual event drew the support of more than 1,000 beauty industry executives. This year, Pantene Pro-V was honored for their Beautiful Lengths program, a national initiative to provide real hair wigs free of charge to women with cancer. Craig Bahner, General Manager and Vice President of North America Hair Care, Procter & Gamble accepted the award on Pantene’s behalf.

Proceeds from the Holiday Luncheon totaled $615,000, which includes $72,250 from a Live Auction and $76,285 from a special Fund-A-Need Auction in which attendees bid to support specific programs within Cancer and Careers such as:

  • Support for those with careers in crisis
  • Cancer and Careers’ community outreach programming
  • The Elizabeth Jerrett support group for cancer survivors, named in honor of former CEW board member and Cancer and Careers inspiration, Elizabeth Jerrett, who passed away on October 25, 2007.
  • Cancer and Careers’ On the Go Survival Guide series
  • Resources for working mothers with cancer

This event is generously sponsored by: iVillage, Symrise, Target, WWD Beauty Biz, Suite K, DeVries Public Relations, Digital Plus, and JCS Media. Please visit www.cew.org for more information.
