CEW is gearing up for its first ever virtual two-day celebratory event, the Women’s Leadership Awards, honoring the exemplary accomplishments of a diverse group of cross-generational female leaders in the beauty industry. Set to take place October 21- October 22, this new event, which is sponsored by Meredith, will bring together the 2020 Achiever Awards honorees and the Top Talent Awards recipients under one program. The event will also feature a special panel discussion and presentation of CEW’s Indie26, sponsored by Macy’s, recognizing notable Black female-founded brands disrupting the beauty industry.

The Indie26 presentation will take place on the first day of the event, and will include a panel featuring several Black female beauty entrepreneurs included in the Indie26 Report. Panelists include Taraji P. Henson, Founder & CEO, TPH by Taraji; Melissa Butler, Founder & CEO, The Lip Bar, and Mahisha Dellinger, Founder & CEO, Curls Beauty Brand. Following the panel will be the recognition of four of the 2020 Achiever Awards Honorees: Maly Bernstein, Vice President, Beauty & Personal Care, CVS; Erica Culpepper, General Manager, L’Oréal Multi-Cultural Beauty; Elana Drell-Szyfer, CEO, RéVive Skincare; and, Lilli Gordon, Founder & CEO, First Aid Beauty.

On the second day, the following 2020 Achiever Awards Honorees will be recognized: Jane Lauder, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Marketing and Chief Data Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc; and Alexandra Papazian, President, Laura Mercier. Additionally, Jenny B. Fine, Executive Editor, Beauty, WWD and Beauty Inc. will be presented with a special Beauty Industry Champion Award. The 2020 Top Talent Honorees will also be recognized. They are: Vivianna Blanch, Vice President, Integrated Consumer Communications, L’Oréal Paris; Ophelia Ceradini, Vice President, Digital Technology and Innovation, ELC Online, Estée Lauder Companies; Erum Chaudhry, Vice President, Marketing Beauty & Skincare, Christian Dior; Maris Croswell, Senior Director, North America Pantene, P&G Beauty; Chopin Rabin, Vice President, Global Integrated Communications, Nars Cosmetics; Maria Salcedo, Vice President, Merchandising, Strategy & Analytics, Ulta Beauty; Usha Vijay, Vice President, Global Marketing, Consumer Fragrance, Symrise; and, for the first time a Members Choice award will be presented to Janet Chan, Vice President of Brand, nugg beauty.

Award recipients will share their personal stories and unique perspectives around women’s empowerment and inclusion. Additionally, the event program will be rounded out with thought leaders, including Shelly Zalis, CEO, The Female Quotient; Sarah Kunst, Managing Director, Cleo Capital; and Kristy Click, Senior Client Officer, Ipsos, on topics related to female achievement, equality and empowerment.

Networking opportunities will be offered exclusively to all registrants, and in addition to the live event, attendees will receive access to virtual gift bags, on-demand content, recordings and event materials. In November, attendees will also receive a digital journal that will contain exclusive content on leadership and women’s achievements.
