In a series of conversations with top women beauty leaders about the passion points within their jobs, executive leader Nata Dvir, Chief Merchandising Officer for Macy’s, talks about inspiring customers, how she gets motivated by watching Macy’s customers get excited by product that showcases their style.

“Throughout my time at Macy’s, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know our customer, and more importantly, the role we play in supporting their lives. Macy’s is unique in that we help our customers celebrate life’s moments big and small – this includes a look for a big day, a lipstick that makes them feel confident, or a pair of shoes that feels uniquely their own. Because of this work, our customer has an expectation when shopping with us – they expect to find what they are looking for, to have a convenient experience and to be inspired in the process. We not only create and curate great product, but we also must think about the journey and how that product comes to life across our channels.

As merchants, our success with our customers is a result of our partnerships – the partnerships with our vendors and across our business that help us to create our product strategies and how those narratives are brought to life. This ranges from the fixtures we use in stores to the content that gets animated on our digital platforms. When we execute this well, there is nothing more gratifying than watching our customers get excited by product that showcases their style.”
