GENERAL INFORMATION

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Both product and Indie entries have the option to participate in the Product Demo. Product entries who choose not to demonstrate, may still submit product for the gift bag.

In addition, the set-up of the event will be by Product Company/Brand not by category. This gives companies the option to have one Demonstrator for every two product entries or one Demonstrator max per individual product entry. Participation in the Product Demonstration is optional. Both product and Indie entries have the option to participate in the event. Entries who choose not to participate, may still submit product for the gift bag.

Demonstrator break-down.


Participating in the Demonstration Gift Bag is an excellent way to showcase your product to CEW members, beauty industry professionals who comprise the Finalist voting panel. While participation is not required, most companies who enter the Beauty Insider Awards Awards choose to submit in the Demonstration gift bag. In order to ensure the fair and equal distribution of products, sampling will NOT be permitted at the individual product stations.

Due to space constraints, Exhibiting Companies can only attend the event if they are a registered Demonstrator OR are a CEW member and purchase tickets. No tickets will be available for general sale.

DEMONSTRATOR INFORMATION

Demonstrators do NOT have to be members of CEW. Please note that this person will have to demonstrate & answer general questions about this product—we recommend providing someone who feels comfortable dealing with large crowds. If you cannot secure a Demonstrator, for the event and would still like to participate, click here for further details.

Demonstrator badges help event attendees & personnel identify your demonstrator. Badges will be provided to each demonstrator upon check-in. ONLY ONE BADGE will be issued to each demonstrator, and it must be worn AT ALL TIMES by the Demonstrator during the demonstration. Demonstrators found not wearing their badge will be escorted from the event. Only one demonstrator will be allowed per product entered.

Demonstrators who are CEW members also have the option to purchase a ticket to the event if they would like to get a gift bag. Those who have purchased tickets will also have a barcode on their badge for gift bag pickup. Please purchase tickets online.

Please have them bring photo id, the product name, company & category & contact name. Demonstrators will not be permitted to enter without this information.

Gift bags will be only be distributed to demonstrators who are CEW members AND who have purchased a ticket to this event. PLEASE NOTE: Gift Bags will be distributed to Member Demonstrators at the end of the event ONLY. Demonstrators WILL NOT be permitted to pick up gift bags during Exhibition Hours (Demonstrator Pickup Time: 8:00PM – 9:00PM) – (view show timeline). Member demonstrators cannot purchase tickets on site at the event. To purchase tickets please visit our web site.

Demonstrators will NOT be allowed to switch out with other demonstrators during the event. Demonstrators at the event found to not have the Demonstrator Badge will be escorted from the building, No Exceptions.

Requests to change a demonstrator after Demonstrator Registration period (February 1-February 15must be emailed to beautyawards@cew.org.

DISPLAY/SETUP INFORMATION

Setup of the demonstration area must take place during either or both Setup Periods

Individual companies are responsible for setup of their demonstration areas.


CEW will provide each entrant with a 3 foot by 2 foot area with white table linens for EACH product entry. Any branded table linens would come from the brand.


Products will be set up alphabetically by BRAND. Brands with multiple products will all be located next to one another.


All displays/risers, tester units, overlays, signs, floral arrangements, etc. MUST fit within the provided space. Any exhibitor materials found to be infringing on common or other demonstrator space are not allowed. **


Storage is limited to the space underneath your table.


All entries may provide a sign that identifies your product, product company & category for each entry, to be displayed in your designated area. **


The Demonstrator must check in with CEW Staff upon arrival at the space to receive their demonstrator badge.


Provide applicators/towelettes, tissues and a trash can if you test your products. If water is needed for testing and removal of your product, water can be brought and stored under your table space. Cleaning products from the same product line of the product being demonstrated may not be used.


You may distribute or display posters, brochures, postcards or pamphlets about the product entered ONLY. **


You may use table overlays or flowers as part of your display.


You may bring risers or containers to hold pamphlets or demonstration products (glass bowl, basket, or similar) **


You may display table-top posters, promotional signage, advertisements and tester units


You may bring items to demonstrate/test the product including:
– Head with wig to demonstrate hair styling product – Scent strips, cotton balls, tissues, make-up remover etc.


Small electronic devices may be used to visually enhance your display. Content must be relevant to the entered product only without the use of audio or music.


Electricity will not be available. Devices must be fully charged and should not rely on an electrical power source (i.e. iPads, laptops, smartphones or tablets).


Any perishable food used for display must be in a sealed container. All food preparation (i.e. cutting of fruit, etc.) must be done in advance.


You may distribute small wrapped candy.


Do not distribute product samples at your table (you may TEST products)


Do not display free-standing/floor posters, promotional signage, advertising (all signage must fit on your table)


Do not show video presentations, multi-media, or other technological display/promotion


Do not distribute any bags with name of product or company (considered promotional)


Do not have any candles or other open flames


Do not bring displays requiring access to electrical power outlets or water sources


Do not bring displays requiring access to water sources. If water is needed for the testing and removal of your product, water can be brought and stored under your table space.


Do not distribute cupcakes, cookies, beverages etc. Only small wrapped candy will be permitted.


All demonstrators and setup teams must vacate the showroom at 2pm and demonstrators ONLY may return at 3pm to continue their setup.


Any non-Demonstrators (setup staff) will not be permitted on premises AFTER 3:00PM – (view show timeline).


If you are confirmed for the Product Demo and cancel your participation a refund will not be issued.


If you are confirmed for the Product Demo and your Demonstrator is not present on event day by 4:30 PM, a refund will not be issued. competition.

Please use your discretion. If a demonstrator’s materials obviously infringes upon, stands out or otherwise detracts from other tables, or demonstrators use any other means of securing an unfair advantage, CEW staff will ask the demonstrator to put that item away under their table.

Setup of the demonstration area will take place on February 27 during Setup Period(s)

Entries will be organized by Product Company/Brand not by category. All entries for one company will be together. We require a minimum of one Demonstrator for every two product entries. ECO & Indie entries will be in a different room and organized by company name.

Each product entered can have up to 2 set-up personnel, however, all non-demonstrating personnel will be asked to leave the premises at the close of Setup Period 1 (12-2:00PM), NO EXCEPTIONS – (view show timeline).

All supplies must fit underneath the Demonstrator’s table. Additional space is not available.

ALL DEMONSTRATING COMPANIES MUST CARRY LIABILITY INSURANCE. CEW IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR INJURIES INCURRED BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER THE DEMONSTRATION.

All exhibitor materials must be carried in during the specified SETUP PERIOD(S) (12:00PM – 2:00PM and/or 3:00PM – 4:30PM). Demonstrators may only receive help bringing exhibit materials inside during 12:00PM – 2:00PM. At 3:00PM, registered Demonstrators ONLY will be permitted to bring in exhibit materials.
