For earth month, Aveda has launched its first shampoo bar created exclusively for hair to help raise millions of dollars to protect and provide clean water to people in need around the world.

Beginning April 1, in celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Aveda is offering a new limited-edition Shampure Nurturing Shampoo Bar as part of its partnership with charity: water of which $5 from each sale will go directly to charity: water’s clean water projects.

The Shampure shampoo bar is formulated to gently cleanse and provide weightless, long-lasting nourishment, while infusing hair with one of Aveda’s most iconic aromas. The bar features zero plastic packaging, and is silicone-free, sulfate cleanser free, cruelty-free and vegan. The shampoo bar is available throughout Earth Month in Aveda stores, Aveda salons, and online at And, 100 percent of all sales online and in U.S. Aveda stores on Earth Day will be donated to charity: water.

The effort looks to help raise $2 million, in combination with Aveda’s additional brand efforts, to protect and provide clean water to people in need in India, Nepal, Madagascar and Ethiopia. Since 1999, Aveda has raised nearly $65 million for environmental causes around the world.
