A new online/app hair community, Bangstyle, has been developed for both stylists and consumers to bridge the gap between the two by pairing clean, easy-to-navigate design with streaming visual inspiration, in-depth search tools and hair news to provide a one-stop resource for all things hair.

Via a constant stream of hair photos, stylist info and hair descriptors, Bangstyle allows professional hair stylists—and the brands they represent— the ability to upload images with styles ranging from a simple cut in the salon to avant-garde styles from a high fashion shoot, creating their own digital hair portfolio.

Consumers can search these Fresh Pix, while an in-depth search function, Finder, allows users to search by hair type – length, texture, style, and color – to find specific stylists and their portfolios. A Brand section provides details about key brands and products, while Trend Report features hair news from an insider’s perspective. In addition, the site includes a Contests page filled with ongoing contests for users.

“There is so much talent, creativity, and innovation in the world of hair,” said Bangstyle Marketing Director, Ashlee Levitch. “We wanted to create a platform that celebrates hair, where stylists, brands and consumers could engage. Bangstyle was born out of this need for a hair community where people could find and share inspiration digitally and where consumers could learn from industry experts, including many celebrity stylists.”

Founded in 2011, Bangstyle started as a news source covering beauty, fashion and lifestyle, and quickly grew into a site focused solely on grooming. The website and mobile application evolved to fill a void in the hair industry providing inspiration, stylist and brand information, news and communication tools for stylists and consumers alike. A new version of the Bangstyle App was introduced in 2014.

Notable Bangstyle brands include Paul Mitchell, Kevin Murphy and Cezanne. Top stylists include Vivienne Mackinder, Angelo Seminara, Chrystofer Benson and Daniel Roldan (Global Artistic Directors for Matrix), Sam Villa (Redken Education Artistic Director), Marcia Hamilton (Jada Pinkett), Frank Galasso (Kim Kardashian, Emmy Rossum, Kate Upton), Vanessa Price (Zooey Deschanel, Justin Bieber), Mika Fowler (Olivia Munn), and many more.
