Here, what stood out in Makeup, Skin Care and Tools.

MAKEUP

#NoFilter (Face product, mass + prestige): Products offering a lit-from-within glow were strong in 2016. Micro-pearls, shimmering pigments, prismatic effects and light-reflecting technology were used in many face products, from foundations to bronzers, to create the natural-looking radiance.

Brows: Filling and shaping brows is not just limited to pencils and powders anymore. Liquid formulas are proving to be multitasking masters by providing arch definition in addition to several benefits, including buildable color to mask greys, formulas that aim to promote new hair growth, and protein fibers to fill in patchiness with natural looking hairs.

Seal It With a Kiss (Lip Product, mass + prestige): Highly pigmented, bold colors reigned supreme in lipsticks and glosses, with brands offering 10-100 statement-making shades in their collections.

SKIN CARE

Blemish Blusters (Acne Treatment): Sheet masks were one of the most popular K-beauty trends to dominate the skin care market last year. Celebrities from Adele to Justin Bieber showcased their adoption of the trend by posting sheet mask selfies on their social media accounts, and consumers have followed suit with the #sheetmask hashtag garnering over 120,000 posts, and counting.
