Cult skin care brand Biologique Recherche has announced that Margot Humbert will assume the role of General Manager for its USA Division. Margot replaces Laura Gerchik.
Margot has more than 15 years’ experience in the beauty industry spanning across China, Latin America, and the U.S. She started her career at Estée Lauder in global makeup marketing working in New York and then in China. In 2009 she joined MAC cosmetics where she helped develop regional marketing capabilities in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In 2019 Margot joined Coty as the global head of philosophy beauty where she worked on a complete brand repositioning.
The brand, which is deeply rooted in France, is best known for its clinical approach to beauty using pure, concentrated, raw ingredients, as well as innovative protocols and procedures. Products contain high concentrations of active ingredients, are perfume-free and are cold formulated at the Biologique Recherche laboratories in Paris. The brand’s bestselling products include Lotion P50 and Masque Vivant. Lotion P50, which launched in 1970, has a cult following, and features lactic acid and salicylic acid.
Biologique Recherche is a second-generation family business founded by Yvan Allouche, a biochemist, and his wife, Josette Allouche, a physiotherapist who developed the brand’s methodology and products. The privately-owned brand, which is available in more than 70 countries, brought on long-term private investors in 2020 to help the brand grow both in the U.S. and internationally.
