Carlotta Jacobson, President, Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), will be the recipient of the prestigious 2018 John Mack Carter Founders Award, presented at Komen Greater NYC’s annual Impact Awards. The award is being presented to Carlotta in recognition for her visionary leadership in the founding of CEW’s foundation, Cancer and Careers, and the life-changing impact the organization is having supporting individuals balancing work, treatment and recovery.

“Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) was founded to support working women advance their careers. Cancer and Careers (CAC) was a natural extension of our mission. More than 15 years ago, when CAC was founded, no one was addressing the effects of cancer for working people. This charity would not exist without the support we have received from companies and the devoted staff who make a difference in the lives of cancer patients every day. I accept the John Mack Carter Founders Award in honor of all of them,” said Carlotta.

Cancer and Careers is the only cancer organization dedicated to providing workplace support—a key survivorship issue for people who want to stay on the job, find a new position, or return to the workforce post‐diagnosis. More than 525,000 patients, survivors and healthcare providers now access its expert information and resources each year.

The awards ceremony will be held on May 23 at Cipriani 42nd Street, and will include a Silent Auction and Community Partner Expo at 11am, followed by the Program and Luncheon at 12pm.

The Impact Awards program was established to honor those making a difference through education, outreach and research for breast cancer. Additional honorees include, GENENTECH (Corporate Impact Award); Gerri Willis, anchor and reporter, Fox Business Network (Surviving With Impact Award); and Planned Parenthood of Nassau County, Inc. (Community Impact & Innovation Award).
