Condé Nast has named the new editor-in-chief of Glamour. Samantha Barry, CNN’s social media executive producer, will take the top slot at the beauty and fashion glossy. The news was first reported by Business of Fashion.

In September, longtime and much beloved editor-in-chief Cindi Leive announced she would step down from the role after leading the magazine for 16 years.

Samantha hails from Ireland and joined CNN from BBC World News in London, where she was a social media producer and journalist, Business of Fashion reported. As CNN’s executive producer for social and emerging media since 2014, she oversaw the social teams across all CNN bureaus and developed editorial strategies for teams working across platforms. At Condé Nast, she will be responsible for the Glamour brand and content, as well as consumer experiences. Her start date is January 15.
