Mark Cuban made such as splash at Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) in 2014 that this year he’s planning to return to the leading international B2B beauty trade show—and he’s bringing along an entrepreneurial pal.

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA), the industry’s largest non-profit organization of salon professionals, has partnered with CPNA to launch The Beauty Pitch, a platform for up-and-coming and established companies to present their brand, products or ideas to a panel of top investors, including Mark Cuban and fellow entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria. Both have appeared on ABC’s “Shark Tank”.

“We are thrilled to have the support of Mark, John Paul and the investment community to present this unique opportunity to the professional beauty industry,” said Scott Buchanan, PBA Chairman.

Apparently Mark’s appearance at CNPA in 2014 created lots of buzz before and after the show.

“The format allowed his amazing personality and wit to come through. The audience wanted him back and they also wanted a mini ‘Shark Tank,’ so we’re delivering it,” said Daniela Ciocan, Director of Marketing for CPNA.

Five finalists will have the chance to pitch to the panel live as part of PBA’s Business Forum on July 12, 2015, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. One winner will receive a one-year mentorship from Mark Cuban, as well as the opportunity to receive possible funding from a reputable private equity firm.

To kick off The Beauty Pitch, Mark and John Paul will share their advice on business practices and answer questions from the audience. The event will be followed by live pitches from the finalists.

The Beauty Pitch is now accepting submissions. Beauty Pitch contest entries must be submitted online by May 4, 2015 at 9 a.m. EDT. For official rules, entry fees and details, see beautypitch.com/rules and follow #BeautyPitch for updates. Finalists will be selected by an internal panel of judges consisting of industry professionals, program hosts and investors. The five finalists will be announced on May 22, 2015.
