Macy’s is aiming to create the perfect blend of online and in-store shopping experiences by utilizing smart shelves to change the way it sells perfume. Through a partnership with digital display firm Perch, the retailer installed interactive Fragrance Bar counters in 34 of its locations across the country at the end of June. Customers can now explore and sample 30 different perfumes by different brands with the help of interactive digital screens, which provides information about the scent, customer reviews, fragrance suggestions and a checkout code.
