Meanwhile, McKinsey’s report summarized that beauty, after being hit significantly by the pandemic, would make a strong rebound, driven partly by burgeoning social commerce channels. Half of U.S. TikTok users, McKinsey wrote, have purchased a product or service from a brand after seeing it advertised, promoted, or reviewed on the platform. Overall, social commerce sales in the U.S. will double from 2020 to 2023, reaching $53 billion. Lastly, the companies primed for long-term growth are those with clear strategies on product categories and distribution channels, and a sharp focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. All well predicted, indeed.
