Barefoot Scientist is aiming to make foot care a natural part of everyday wellness routines with a collection of solution-oriented products that combines scientific research and thoughtful ingredients. To increase its reach, which currently includes a presence at retailers including Bloomingdale’s, Riley Rose and HSN, the brand will roll out to 3,600 CVS doors on June 14, as the first premium foot care brand sold at the retailer. “What’s great about our products is that they can work in any retail environment, from a pharmacy where people traditionally go to look for foot care, to a more high-end retailer,” said Dana Ward, Co-Founder & SVP of Barefoot Scientist. Within CVS, the brand will have a two-shelf branded display unit to showcase seven of their products. This will be the first-ever branded display in the foot care aisle of the retailer.

Barefoot Scientist first launched in 2016 with PreHeels ($16), a spray that creates an invisible barrier to block friction from shoes. The spray generated $3 million in sales in 2017 prompting a full line expansion to include a range of 10 topical products and seven tools, which launched this past January. The new lineup includes Twinkle Toes ($16), an odor-eliminating spray, Clean Slate ($10), dual-textured cleansing towelettes, and Sigh of Relief ($22), a warming pain relief cream. Additional products will launch by the end of the year.

The company is funded by undisclosed angel, celebrity and venture capital investors and recently hired former Nest Fragrances CEO Nancy McKay, as CEO, to help navigate its presence in the beauty space.
