On Sunday, November 15, Jennifer Lopez posted a gleaming, glowing video of herself on Instagram. She captioned it: “This isn’t just a passion project, it’s a 30-year dream. I can’t wait to share my skincare secrets with you!!” She went on to write: “JLo Beauty drops 1/1/21. Get early access 12/8. #linkinbio to sign up.”
In August, Beauty News reported that the singer/actress had teased her upcoming makeup and skin care line on Instagram. Along with a series of sunset selfies in her signature bronzed beauty look, the images were captioned: “Sunset glow… #JLoBeauty coming soon.”
Jennifer is dropping the news in strategic increments via social media and now she’s made it clear that the beauty range will definitely include skin care, with January 1, 2021 as the official launch date. The announcement came in conjunction with another big moment, her accepting the People’s Icon Award at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards, which also took place virtually on Saturday, November 15.
According to a trademark filed on December 24, 2019 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), JLo Beauty will include moisturizers, cleansers, creams, serums and more.
The landing page for the brand features rose-gold visuals, perhaps a clue about the line’s packaging. Consumers are encouraged to sign up more than a month in advance with a phone number and email address to get exclusive access to the site’s launch. The brand’s site reads, “Now your glow has no expiration date.” Perhaps she’ll offer skin care geared toward her fellow Gen Xers—and older—in addition to Millennials and possibly Gen Z.
