Natural beauty was one of the biggest trends in 2018, with natural skin care products accounting for $1.6 billion in sales at the end of last year. In 2019, the category is expected to continue to grow, and along with it, the behavior of consumers who already know what constitutes natural, looking beyond labels to understand specific ingredients in products. According to Nielsen, the latest consumer to watch is the Evolved Beauty Consumer. This shopper includes beauty as a line item on her holistic wellness plan and is actively shopping for that perfect product that fits her beauty needs and supports her life anthem.

At CEW’s upcoming State of the Beauty Industry Report 2018/2019 event, Karen Wolfe, Vice President, Client Consulting, Nielsen, will share the intel brands need to know about the evolved consumer to improve business outcomes and stay competitive. Using a combination of point-of-sale data, consumer panel and custom research, she will present new insights to help businesses:

  • Understand who the Evolved Beauty Consumer is
  • Navigate the ever-changing ingredient game
  • Bring clarity to beauty consumers’ perceptions of sustainability and wellness
  • Leverage an omni-channel approach to create new opportunities

The event will also feature NPD’s Hot off the Press 2018 Beauty Industry Year in Review, as well as 2019 trends from Mintel, and results from a proprietary report on Ingredients by Google.
