Clean makeup brand Saie has named Lucia Perdomo-Ruehlemann as President of the brand. In just two years, Saie has shown a tremendous capacity for growth—at a rapid pace—despite launching during the pandemic. A long-time beauty industry executive, Lucia most recently served as Global Brand President of Drunk Elephant. Prior to that, Lucia was Chief Marketing Officer of Fresh. An experienced global brand builder, Lucia brings to Saie a strong consumer-centric approach with skills in sales, community building, market research, direct marketing, retail, and international business.
Here, Beauty News caught up with Lucia to learn more about her new role with Saie.
Beauty News: As Saie’s new President, what are your key responsibilities?
Lucia Perdomo-Ruehlemann: My key responsibilities include crystallizing the brand’s DNA, continuing to cultivate the brand’s exclusive relationship with Sephora, and ensuring that Saie has the resources it needs to support its momentum.
BN: How will you work with Laney Crowell, Saie’s founder and CEO?
LPR: I’ll work with Laney by partnering intimately with her on the brand’s strategic road map. I’ll also honor Laney’s vision alongside Tara Walton and Lauren Barrett, who will be joining as Head of Sales and Chief Financial/Chief Operating Officer, respectively.
BN: What is first on your agenda at Saie?
LPR: A few things. The first is to learn from the incredible Saie teams. I want to nurture and grow a global customer base. Last on the agenda is to have fun and optimize business with Saie’s incredible Sephora partners, who are best-in-class global brand builders.
