This afternoon, CEW hosted its 22nd Annual CEW Beauty Insider Awards Luncheon, the industry’s celebration for the top beauty launches of the year.

Tony Award Winning Actress Laura Benanti served as Master of Ceremonies at the event, which drew over 1,100 people to the Grand Ballroom of the historic Waldorf Astoria New York, where 43 awards across 37 categories were presented to the teams behind the year’s most innovative products.

The room was abuzz with excitement as ties for two categories were surprisingly revealed. First, there was a three-way tie for Hair-spiration (Hair Syle/Hair Care category) between Bumble and bumble’s Don’t Blow It (H)air Styler, Drybar’s Triple Sec 3-in-1 and Living Proof’s Blowout. Then, a two-way tie for Nailed It (Nail Product category) between butter LONDON’s Patent Shine 10x Nail Lacquer and essie’s Gel Setter was unexpectedly announced.

Notably,

L’Oréal Paris’s Makeup Genius took home the Insider’s Choice Beauty Award in CEW’s newly created Best Beauty App category, which recognizes a mobile beauty app that makes it easier for beauty lovers to discover, try, play and shop from their smart phone.

Also new this year, CEW partnered with Meredith Corporation to launch the Super Hero (Iconic Consumers’ Choice) Beauty Award, the first award in CEW history open to voting by the public. Consumers were invited to select their favorite iconic beauty products on Meredith’s digital platform and chose NEUTROGENA’s Make-up Removing Cleansing Towelettes as the winner in the mass category and Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief as the winner in prestige.

Winners will be featured alongside Finalists in an online consumer-facing Beauty Insider Awards Digital Magazine, which is available on CEW.org. The interactive magazine features videos, beauty trend articles, and clickable icons to allow readers to purchase the products from retailers.
