A new ad campaign by Avon, This Is Boss Life, looks to not only empower more than 400,000 Avon representatives in North America, but to also target women looking for a career change.

Avon research found that 80 percent of women want to be their own boss, with the biggest factors driving that being the ability to set one’s own hours; the opportunity to earn more income; less office politics and no one telling them what to do. The new campaign aims to put Avon, and their community, in the spotlight while bringing an unexpected freshness to everyone involved.

The company has a 130-year history of empowering women. And though the memorable ‘Ding Dong, Avon Calling,’ might still apply to some Avon reps, many also host weekly or monthly makeup parties and connect with clients through social media and the web. Avon reps can get into the business of selling Avon products with just a $25 investment and they can earn up to 40 percent of her sales.

Naturally, Avon reps will be featured in the new ads, including Georgiana Haynes, who embodies a millennial voice, and Lydia Oslinksy, who speaks to ‘Momtrepreneurs.’ Ads will include digital, TV and radio efforts. Print ads will be featured in November and December issues of women’s magazines.
