Trendalytics’ latest report covers the hottest beauty trends seen on the SS22 NYFW runway. Key highlights include:

  • Themes of rebirth and renewal emerged, bringing florals to the forefront. Chromat models wore flower accents in their hair, while models at Sandy Liang sported nails featuring a single black daisy. Searches for flower headbands and flower nails are +24% and +55% to last year, respectively.
  • Neon pigments and shimmering finishes at Rodarte and Anna Sui offered audiences an opportunity to escape reality. Inspired by extraterrestrial landscapes, makeup artist James Kaliardos painted bright alien-like shapes on the faces of Rodarte models, while Pat McGrath used sunset hues and a shimmery finish to bring Anna Sui’s tropical vision to life. Searches for neon pigments are +14% to last year and searches for glitter eyes are +25% to last year.
  • Opting for a more subtle approach to beauty, Jonathan Simkhai had models sporting minimal eye makeup and deep plum lipstick, searches for which are +1,547% to last year.
  • Peter Do also found that less is more, giving models a minimalistic wavy manicure. Already showing market potential, wavy nails are up in searches +116% to last year.
