Speaking of female founders, forbes.com reports that a new survey of businesses by Gusto shows there has been a dramatic rise in businesses founded by women in recent years. “Women started 49% of new businesses last year, a 69% increase from 2019 and a five-year high,” writes Forbes reporter Geri Stengel. “Gusto’s 2025 New Business Formation Survey offers compelling evidence of this shift, revealing a notable surge in women-led ventures across various sectors.”
Dove has unveiled its first facial skin care range to launch in Brazil. “The Dove Regenerative line is said to ‘democratise’ dermocosmetics with its affordable price tag and premium ingredients,” reports globalcosmeticsnews.com. “Dove Regenerative has been created with Brazil’s racially diverse population in mind and has been tested on more than 100 different Brazilian skin tones.”
The New York Times shines the spotlight on the appeal of American skin care among French teens, following a Glossier pop-up event in Paris last week to launch its new fragrance, Fleur. “Young American brands have become more relevant than their legacy French competitors, according to some Gen-Z customers,” reports thenewyorktimes.com. In other fragrance news, Paris Hilton Fragrances has launched the new Iconic Eau de Parfum at Ulta Beauty, as the start of an exclusive new partnership with the retailer.
In social media news, TikTok Shop is entering three new European markets – France, Germany, and Italy – following its arrival in Ireland and Spain last December. “The expansion will enable new brands to launch on the platform while also acting as a gateway into Europe for beauty brands already on TikTok Shop UK,” reports cosmeticsbusiness.com. Meanwhile, in skin care, Swiss skin care brand Swiss Perfection is looking to expand in the US, through facialist Joanna Czech’s studios in New York, Dallas and Los Angeles, plus her website.
Revlon has tapped Ashley Graham as its new global brand ambassador. Graham appears in her first campaign as the face of the Revlon ColorSilk home hair color range.
