In breaking news, Coty has shared its results for Q2 and the first half of fiscal 2025. The company’s net revenue dropped by 3% in the three months to December 31, 2024, to $1.6 billion. “As we are now midway through our fiscal year, it is clear that fiscal year 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year,” said Sue Nabi, Coty’s CEO.
Moroccanoil has unveiled its first fragrance, L’Originale, with actress Adria Arjona starring as its face. WWD reports that the scent was inspired by the signature scent of the OG hair treatment oil. An eau de parfum, it drops on the Sephora app, and at the brand’s website, on February 18. “Consumers have been asking for it for years. Any time we do any work with the consumer, this is the first thing that comes up,” Carmen Tal, Moroccanoil’s cofounder, told WWD. In other celebrity ambassador updates, Neutrogena has tapped Nicola Coughlan, the star of Bridgerton, as the face of its products in the U.K. and Ireland.
Mary Kay celebrated the International Day of Women in Science earlier this week with 30 students from a Texas high school. The students were invited to the cosmetics company’s Richard R. Rogers Manufacturing/R&D Center in Lewisville, Texas, where Nichole Jones-Dooley, VP of manufacturing North America at Mary Kay, led them through “a personal STEM career journey.” The students learned about STEM-related career opportunities within the global beauty and manufacturing industry.
