At CEW, we are amplifying the philanthropic voices of beauty industry executives looking for donations to support the victims of L.A.’s wildfires. “Thousands of social media messages have flooded platforms, as beauty executives in the public relations, retail, media, brand, and salon arenas rally to mobilize aid, essentials, money, and support,” writes CEW reporter Paige Herman-Axel, who spoke to Pacific Palisades resident Amy Liu, Tower 28 founder and CEO, and other leading executives for our report.

Also at CEW, we report on what Kecia Steelman, the newly named CEO of Ulta Beauty, shared about her team’s goals as part of a CEW panel interview in New York in November. And, as part of our commitment to empower industry professionals with insightful advice and solutions, we’re highlighting the daily news and advice from across the best websites. Most recently, we discuss Kim Rittberg’s Fast Company article, “4 Resolutions That Will Move Your Career and Business Forward”; Dr. Davis Burkus’ TED article, “The 3 Things That Keep People Feeling Motivated at Work,” and an in-depth interview in CEO Magazine with Gabby Bernstein.

The Estée Lauder Companies has announced that Ronald S. Lauder has retired from its Board of Directors, while remaining Chairman of Clinique Laboratories, LLC. Lauder has tapped his son-in-law, Eric Zinterhofer — who is married to his daughter Aerin — as his second designee director, while his daughter Jane will continue to serve on the Board in her current role. In other executive news, GHD has boosted its C-suite with the appointment of four beauty executives to its global team, including Thys Niermeyer, formerly Managing Director of GHD Spain & Portugal, who is now Managing Director of GHD North America.

In other breaking news, Sisley has unveiled its first dermocosmetic product, Sensitive Skin Soothing Care. Part of a new sub-range, launching this month, it is “dermatology-grade in terms of efficacy,” said Marie-Laure Pons, Sisley’s international marketing director. Meanwhile, Ulta Beauty has partnered with Instacart to offer nationwide same-day delivery across the U.S.
