Today at CEW, we spotlight some key leadership changes at Orveon, the parent company of prestige beauty brands Laura Mercier Cosmetics, BareMinerals, and Buxom Cosmetics. Erin Cast, previously President of Revolution Beauty, North America, has been appointed Global Brand President for the organization, and Bradley Horowitz has been tapped by Orveon as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Horowitz brings over three decades of experience in strategic, sales, marketing, and management to the role, most recently Malin+Goetz, where he was Chief Executive Officer for seven years.

Also at CEW, we report on the opening of hairstylist-turned-trichologist Shab Caspara’s pioneering new hair growth and wellness studio in the Flatiron District. The founder of AI-led hair and scalp retail website Leona.co, Caspara’s eponymous new retail concept will offer non-invasive, high tech services aimed at democratizing access to hair growth treatments. “A lot of [hair growth] services are currently within the medical industry and not offered in the comprehensive way that we’ll be offering it — essentially merging trichology with technology,” she told CEW reporter  Kate Sullivan.

In other hair care news, Jen Atkin’s two brands, Mane and Ouai, are partnering in the launch of a Mane x Ouai The Anti-Frizz Kit, dropping at Sephora on January 27, and featuring Mane’s new Hot Straightening Brush and Ouai’s Anti-Frizz Crème. And in cosmetics updates, Kirsten Kjaer Weis has announced that she is ending her association with her nontoxic makeup brand, Kjaer Weis. “Kjaer Weis has been my life’s work and my joy, so far,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am proud of the change it has made in a beauty landscape that desperately needed a non-toxic, uncompromising alternative, rooted in authentic Beauty and in Love.”

Kenvue has tapped Penelope Giraud as its new President of Skin Health & Beauty, Asia Pacific and Latin America. She will lead the strategic direction of the company’s beauty portfolio, which includes brands such as Neutrogena, Aveeno, and Dr. Ci Labo. “I am excited to get started with the teams on building an impactful strategy to enhance the brands’ footprint and progress growth, while delivering brilliant consumer experiences,” commented Giraud.

Funds for NGOs, a social enterprise offering knowledge and skills to NGOs, companies and individuals globally, has an article on its website which explains how to find grants for women entrepreneurs. “Grants specifically aimed at women entrepreneurs can empower them to pursue their business dreams without the burden of debt,” states the report. Meanwhile, in marketing, e.l.f. Beauty has launched the e.l.f. Von Zehn campaign, designed to “transform the beauty landscape in Germany,” with a blend of humor and e.l.f. product testing reviews “Von Zehn,” translates to “11 out of 10,” in German.
