In breaking news, Saltair has announced the appointment of Rachel Shelowitz as its new CEO. In addition, the body care brand, cofounded by model and influencer Iskra Lawrence, has tapped Erin Sale as CMO. Shelowitz, who has held senior roles at Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent and Coty, most recently served as CEO of Lawless Beauty, overseeing its launch in Sephora.

Speaking of inspirational female leadership, Beautycounter’s Gregg Renfrew was a guest on Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop’s podcast, sharing the story behind selling the company she founded to the Carlyle Group for $1 billion in 2021, before buying it back last year. “Renfrew shared insights every entrepreneur can learn from—whether you’re scaling a startup or navigating your next big pivot,” writes CEW reporter Paige Herman-Axel, who highlights some of the key takeaways in their conversation.

Also at CEW, Britney Branch, founder, CEO and Mindset Coach at The Boss Up Agency, makes the case for measuring career success according to progress, rather than speed. “Sprints don’t build empires — stamina does,” Branch writes. “So what if we stopped asking, ‘How fast can I get there?’ And started asking, ‘How well can I sustain this journey?’” Meanwhile, CEW reporter Belisa Silva shares five key takeaways for building an enduring brand, as revealed in the new business book, G.O.A.T. Wisdom, coauthored by the founders of Beekman 1802.

In acquisitions news, Global Cosmetics News reports on LVMH’s “active discussions” to sell the Marc Jacobs fashion brand. Potential buyers are said to include Authentic Brands Group, Bluestar Alliance, and WHP Global. Meanwhile, Urban Decay, which is owned by L’Oréal, is reported to be ending a 15-year formulation partnership with Skindinavia, which makes its All Nighter Setting Spray.

The CEW July 2025 Product Watch has dropped, ushering in a mix of high-tech and sensorially indulgent newcomers. CEW reporter Polly Blitzer showcases the month’s new launches of note.

A sign of the times, Mary Kay has updated the branded pink Cadillac traditionally given to the cosmetics company’s top-performing salespeople. The new model, while still pale pink and adorned with the Mary Kay logo, is now electric.
