In breaking news, Alison Hahn, SVP of Merchandising for Makeup, Fragrance, and Sephora at Kohl’s, has announced her retirement at the end of August. Today at CEW, we reflect on her trailblazing, 30-year career in the beauty industry. Hahn oversaw the launch of more than 100 brands at Sephora at Kohl’s. “Since joining Sephora in 2011, Hahn has identified breakout brands such as FORVR Mood and ILIA, as well as game-changing beauty trends including the launch of Next Big Thing, the rise of influencer and indie brands, as well as curating a unique assortment of classic, clean, and emerging scents,” reports CEW’s Andrea Nagel. “In 2023, Hahn’s role expanded to include leading merchandising across all categories as Sephora embarked upon its joint venture with Kohl’s.” 

In other executive news, Procter & Gamble has tapped Shailesh Jejurikar as its next CEO, succeeding Jon Moeller in 2026. In finance headlines, L’Oréal has reported 2.4% increase in Q2 sales, although analysts had predicted a 2.9% growth; and Interparfums has seen a drop of 2% in sales for its second quarter 2025, to $342 million, in contrast with $342 million for the same period last year. Dermatology category leader Galderma has reported net sales of $2.44 billion for the first half of 2025, according to Happi.

WWD has revealed that Sephora’s next major launch will be Mead, coming next month, founded by Denise Vasi. The lip care brand will debut online at the retailer on August 18, before rolling out into 80 stories on August 25 as part of Sephora’s “Next Big Thing” display. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty is making its first foray into fragrance, with the launch of Rare Eau de Parfum — a warm and spicy scent designed “for quiet days to exciting nights out” – next month. In other celebrity beauty news, the prestige skin care and makeup brand Clé de Peau Beauté has appointed Nicole Kidman as its new global brand ambassador.

L’Oréal Reports 2.4% Sales Rise In Q2 2025. “The French cosmetics powerhouse remains resilient, considering relocating more production to the US where it operates four factories,” according to Biz Brief. (BIZ BRIEF)

Interparfums Sees Drop In Sales In Q2 2025. “While the current macroeconomic environment created headwinds in certain geographies, we view the impacts on our business as transitory as we mitigate the near-term pressures and fuel our longer-term strategy with our retail and distribution partners,” said Jean Madar, Chairman and CEO of Interparfums. Galderma Group AG Reports Record Net Sales For Q1. “The gain represents net sales growth of 12.2% at constant currency, driven mainly by volume and complemented by favorable mix,” reports Happi. (HAPPI)
