L’Oréal and Nvidia, the artificial intelligence (AI) chip maker, are making beauty industry headlines after announcing a new collaboration. The Nvidia AI Enterprise platform aims to “enable groundbreaking, never-before-imagined beauty experiences,” according to a statement.
In other AI news, at CEW, we turn the spotlight on Prose, the AI-powered beauty brand. The company is opening a new customization center in the Los Angeles area, its first location outside of New York, and is set to continue pioneering the “prompt shopping” movement with Singular, its futuristic AI platform. According to Prose CEO and Co-Founder, Arnaud Plas, the brand is set to generate $1B in revenue by 2035. “Developed to allow for every step of the Prose journey, Singular includes both software and hardware technology, and is fully powered by AI,” writes CEW reporter Belisa Silva, who talked to Plas for our special report.
Speaking of innovation, self-care brand Practical Alchemy is making its debut (for now, in the US only). Founded by Doris Wong, Anna Maib, and Melissa Chu, it is launching with a range of “travel-friendly essentials developed with everyday usability in mind — from how they fit in the hand to how they feel on the skin and perform as part of a daily routine,” reports Beauty News Daily.
In executive news, Colin Walsh is stepping down as Procter & Gamble’s CEO of the company’s Specialty Beauty division, effective August 1. John Brownlee, who right now serves at SVP of North America Hair Care, will take over at the helm, whilst maintaining his existing role for the group.
