Victoria’s Secret Expands Beauty Line; Madison Reed Adds New Leadership; WNBA Star Launches Tween Beauty Brand; Dsm-Firmenich Appoints New Chairman; L’Oréal USA Supports Women In Science; Allies Of Skin Appoints New CEO

The beauty industry continues to see new developments across brand expansion, leadership changes, and product innovation. Companies are also investing in new talent, supporting scientific research, and finding new ways to connect with consumers as the industry evolves.

Victoria’s Secret is using its annual fashion show to introduce new beauty products and grow its presence beyond lingerie and fragrance. The brand has launched its first-ever beauty collaboration with eye-care brand Patchology, featuring co-branded eye patches inspired by its signature aesthetic. It is also bringing back discontinued favorites, including Diva Dust, while expanding into products such as hair care, body shimmer, and lip gloss. The strategy was shaped by social media conversations and feedback from longtime fans who want to revisit the brand’s glamorous early-2000s look. By connecting beauty launches to a major cultural event, Victoria’s Secret hopes to build excitement and drive sales across new categories. (Glossy)

Madison Reed is strengthening its leadership team as the hair color brand continues expanding across retail, e-commerce, and its own salon locations. Michelle Peterson has been named chief marketing officer, bringing more than 20 years of experience working with consumer brands, including Kendra Scott and General Mills. John Sullivan has also been promoted to the newly created role of chief commercial officer, where he will oversee the at-home business, wholesale operations, and strategic partnerships. The appointments come as Madison Reed grows its retail presence and recently opened its 99th Hair Color Bar. The company aims to create a more consistent customer experience across its growing number of shopping channels. (Business Wire Yahoo Finance)

WNBA star Dearica Hamby has launched AMNO, a beauty brand created alongside her 9-year-old daughter, Amaya Marie, to encourage confidence and self-expression among young girls. Short for “Always Me. Never Others,” the brand debuted with four hair and body care products priced between $12 and $16, including a leave-in conditioner and shimmer oil. Each product incorporates playful extras, such as stickers and positive affirmations, to make everyday routines more engaging. Rather than introducing makeup, AMNO focuses on age-appropriate beauty and helping girls feel comfortable being themselves. The launch reflects continued interest in beauty among younger consumers while offering families products designed specifically for tweens. (Beauty Independent)

dsm-firmenich has appointed Richard Ridinger as chairman of its Board of Directors following a shareholder vote on October 19. Ridinger replaces Thomas Leysen, who has stepped down from the board, and brings extensive leadership experience across pharmaceuticals, personal care, nutrition and health. Since 2023, he has served as an independent director and will also join the company’s Compensation Committee. The appointment comes as dsm-firmenich continues working toward its long-term business goals, with a focus on innovation and growth. The leadership change reinforces the company’s efforts to maintain strong corporate oversight and support its position as a major supplier of fragrance and beauty ingredients. L’Oréal USA has announced five recipients of its 2026 For Women in Science program, continuing its efforts to support women pursuing careers in scientific research. Each postdoctoral scientist will receive a $75,000 grant, plus mentorship and networking opportunities to advance their work. This year’s recipients are researching a range of topics, including vaccine development, sustainable agriculture, wildlife health, planetary science, and spinal cord injury recovery. In partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the program has supported more than 115 women scientists and awarded over $5.6 million in grants since 2003, reinforcing L’Oréal’s commitment to scientific innovation and expanding opportunities for women in STEM. Allies of Skin has named Alicia Valencia as CEO as founder Nicolas Travis prepares to leave the skincare brand in February 2027. Valencia previously served as global president of Makeup by Mario and joined Allies of Skin earlier this year before becoming interim president in August. Her appointment comes as the company navigates a sunscreen recall following concerns about whether its SPF 50 product delivered the advertised level of protection. Backed by investor Meaningful Partners, the brand is focused on expanding its science-driven skincare business and strengthening its market presence. The leadership transition marks a new chapter for the company as demand for ingredient-focused skincare continues to attract investor interest. (Beauty Independent)
