In her latest Mother Of Wisdom column for CEW, Lauren Brody suggests it’s time to debunk the myth of ambition. “Too often, as I meet new moms and coach them, they’ll describe feeling guilty or uncomfortable with the ways they’ve had to slow down or change course at work,” writes Brody. “They’ll say, ‘I guess I’m just less ambitious now?’ No, I assure them. You’re not. You’re ambitious in an expanded sense of the word.” At CEW, Brody offers nine ways to reframe ambition, for working mothers.

Also at CEW today, we spotlight SNS Partnerships, founded by industry veteran Suhair Nimri, which helps brands establish and strengthen relationships with retailers including Ulta Beauty, Sephora, and Nordstrom. “Partnering with the right retailer can take revenue from growing (or flat!) to soaring, but creating that relationship is anything but simple,” writes CEW reporter Annie Tomlin, who talks to Nimri – an alum of The Estée Lauder Companies, Shiseido, and Perricone MD – about how SNS Partnerships has worked with brands since launching in 2021.

Glossier has unveiled two extensions to its Glossier You fragrance collection. The new Impressions Of Glossier You duo, You Doux and You Rêve, will drop on October 3, at $78 each. “You is our top-selling item, and it is our most expensive item,” Kyle Leahy, chief executive officer of Glossier, told WWD, which reports industry sources estimate the scents could hit combined retail sales of $40 million in their first year.

In executive news, Bath & Body Works has announced that its Retail President, Julie Rosen, has “mutually agreed” to step down from her role, effective immediately, and that the position will be eliminated. In legislation news, California Governor Newsom has signed a landmark bill into law that requires the inclusion of textured hair education in the state’s cosmetology licensing requirements and curriculums. “Inclusivity in the beauty industry is non-negotiable,” commented David Greenberg, CEO of L’Oréal USA, President of North America Zone. “Every professional entering the world of cosmetology needs to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to service all hair types to ensure that all consumers have access to trained professionals that can meet their individual needs.”
