The Beauty of Giving Luncheon returns December 4 with renewed purpose and a powerful new tradition. Benefitting Cancer and Careers, this annual event celebrates the strength of the beauty community, the resilience of survivors in the workforce, and the transformative power of leadership. This year the Carlotta Jacobson Founders Award (named after Carlotta Jacobson, President of CEW, and founder of Cancer and Careers) will recognize two groundbreakers who embody Jacobson’s belief that working after a cancer diagnosis is not only possible, but powerful — and that we all have a critical role to play.
This year’s Honorees are:
Nancy Berger, Founder, Start With A Good (SWAG), is a cross-industry innovator and super-connector. From her leadership roles at Condé Nast and Hearst where she ran iconic brands like Marie Claire, Cosmo, Allure and Women’s Health, to her own venture, Start With A Good, Nancy has consistently driven record-breaking revenues, expanded global footprints and engaged consumers. She has been honored by Ad Age as Publisher of the Year and recognized among the Top Women in Media. Nancy channels her energy into what creates lasting impact—cultivating the next generation of women leaders, igniting unconventional partnerships and championing Cancer and Careers.
Kim Kelleher, Chief Commercial Officer, AMC Networks, is a media groundbreaker. In her current role, she is responsible for all of AMC Networks’ commercial revenue. Kim was the first female publisher of Sports Illustrated, was named Publisher of the Year by both Ad Age and Condé Nast, was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Advertising Hall of Achievement and was a New York Women in Communications Matrix Award honoree. From strategic planning, to reaching new audiences, to bold revenue initiatives, Kim has lent her talents to the Cancer and Careers Board for 16 years, including serving as its treasurer since 2018.
What began as a single idea has become a collective mission. Cancer and Careers believes that survivors bring unique value to the workforce and that no individual should be diminished or experience stigma and uncertainty at work because of a diagnosis.
Funds raised at the Beauty of Giving Luncheon will empower and educate working survivors by directly supporting Cancer and Careers’ vital — and free — programs, including job search tools, career coaching, access to technology, time with social workers, educational events and more.
Join us to celebrate two extraordinary women and help build a future where every survivor is supported, every workplace is empowered and every act of giving becomes a force for change. Thank you to our sponsors AMC Networks, P&G Beauty, Working With Cancer Initiative, Pfizer, Shiseido Americas, Active Concepts, and Kaplow.
