Japanese-American entrepreneur and designer Cynthia Sakai grew up in Southern California, shaped by her creative and entrepreneurial parents — her father, an architect, and her mother, a specialty boutique owner and buyer.Cynthia’s approach to business and life is rooted in a deep commitment to adding value. At 18, she launched her first business, Girlboy by Koco, an accessories brand beloved by celebrities and tastemakers for its distinct takes on everyday items — from color-changing nail polish to fashionable tampon cases. Soon after, she opened one of the first multi-brand showrooms in downtown LA’s Cooper Building.In 2009, she launched Vita Fede, a meticulously designed, minimal, and modern jewelry line. Her designs were handcrafted in Italy by heritage artisans, and her line garnered a devoted celebrity following. She partnered with top retailers worldwide, including Bergdorf Goodman, Lane Crawford, and Harvey Nichols.
In 2014, Cynthia was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). In 2020, in response to the pandemic, Cynthia founded evolvetogether. What started with high-performing, high-design face masks quickly became a go-to brand for elevated daily essentials. In just two years, evolvetogether has earned 20 beauty and fragrance awards, and is trusted for its clean, high-performing formulas, sophisticated scents, and planet-conscious designs.
