Dr. Amber Evans is a cosmetic industry professional with over fifteen years of experience in R&D and innovation with leading companies. Her passion lies in collaboratively impacting the beauty care experience through science, technology, and creativity. She is currently the Chair of the New York Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC), overseeing the development and execution of a portfolio of initiatives that educate and empower within the field of cosmetic science. As Senior Manager of Product Development at Moroccanoil, she leveraged her technical expertise in hair and skin science, ingredient technologies and claims testing to help drive the global launch of prestige hair color and hair & body care products. As a development scientist at prominent ingredient supplier BASF Corporation, her contributions spanned the market segments of hair, body, and oral care. She also previously supported initiatives in hair color and hair and skin/shave care at Procter & Gamble.

Dr. Evans earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Cosmetic Science concentration) from University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. She also holds a professional certification in Management through the American Management Association (AMA). She has authored hair care publications in the technical and consumer spaces, co-invented patented technologies, and featured on multiple platforms that support aspiring scientists and early career professionals.  As a mentor, leader, peer reviewer for Journal of Cosmetic Science and editorial advisory board member for Global Cosmetic Industry, Dr. Evans is dedicated to influencing the progression of the cosmetic field.
