George-Axelle Broussillon Matschinga
Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion SephoraGeorge-Axelle Broussillon Matschinga is the Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Sephora US. In her role, George-Axelle and her team drive Sephora’s mission to create welcoming working and shopping environments through the design, strategic direction, implementation, and business alignment of Sephora’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.
Since joining Sephora in 2020, George-Axelle has developed an ecosystem where Sephora attracts, recruits, develops and advances high-performing talent and fosters inclusion amongst the company’s workforce, clients, and partners. With 22 years of experience, she has built and evolved Sephora’s overall DE&I strategy and governance structure. She was instrumental in conducting Sephora’s first national research study on racial bias in retail and led the design and launch of the Mitigate Racial Bias in Retail Charter in 2022, with non-profit Open to All, signed by an ever-growing list of 90 retailers. In 2026, George-Axelle launched Sephora’s first-ever Inclusive Beauty Council, an external advisory body that brings together expertise-driven organizations to provide strategic insights on inclusive beauty practices, experiences, products, and services. Additionally, she oversees Sephora’s Employee Resource Groups and inclusive beauty trainings. She was recognized with a Top 100 Diversity Officers Award in 2021.
Prior to joining Sephora, George-Axelle started her career at L’Oréal in France where she co-designed the Group’s inaugural global diversity policy, including gender equality standards. She also led inclusion at Sunrun, a renewable energy company. George-Axelle graduated from Harvard University, ESCP Europe Business School and Sorbonne University, and sits on LVMH D&I Council and the National Retail Federation Strategic Impact Council. She resides in Houston, TX with her family.
