Karen Chambers is a member of the CEW Board of Governors and newest Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Taskforce. She is a senior business strategist with extensive experience launching, building, and scaling award-winning consumer and lifestyle brands. She is recognized for innovation in multicultural beauty, marketing, diversity, equity and inclusion with a long career history of senior roles leading diverse and niche brands. She is the former EVP of IMAN Cosmetics, with prior executive experience leading brands like Dermablend, Dark & Lovely, Posner, Black Radiance and Flori Roberts. Her industry credits include beauty awards from Allure, People, Essence and O magazines. She is a coauthor of the anthology Beauty Stories from Around the World, has been a contributing beauty, career and lifestyle writer for Black Enterprise and Black Elegance magazines and is the current Senior Editor of AARP’s Sisters brand. Ms. Chambers holds a BA in Communication from Rutgers University and a Certification in Inclusion & Diversity from the Yale School of Management. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, ColorCom, and BRAG (Black Retail Action Group) and serves as an international brand advisor and multicultural/DEI guest lecturer for corporate, nonprofit, and academic organizations, including FIT.
