Margaret Regan is the President and CEO of The FutureWork Institute, a global consulting firm that translates future trends to transform organizations. Operating on four continents, North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, The FutureWork Institute is a certified women-owned business (WBE) that serves as an incubator of innovation and change in addressing current and future workplace and marketplace issues. Its focus is on helping clients achieve a MindShift, a HeartShift and a SkillShift in creating a more inclusive, future-focused culture and environment.

As a futurist and member of the World Future Society, Margaret is often asked to bring to her keynote presentations and consulting assignments a perspective on the next 10 years and their implications for workforce change management. Her keynote presentations, See the Future to Be the Future, are visual journeys into the next 10 years as ESIs and AI change the nature of how we work and serve clients. She has delivered presentations in Asia, Europe and NA entitled, Game Changers 2030: How They Will Impact Our Work and Our Lives. Recently she presented these global Game Changers at the UN along with a presentation on what it will mean to be human and have “personhood” in 2030.

As a global diversity and inclusion consultant, Margaret has led executive teams in Japan, keynoted future-focused conferences in Europe, Asia and North America, worked in Paris on French-American mergers and global summits, educated executive teams on cross-cultural differences, and conducted women’s studies in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia. She has led projects that conducted employee research, focus groups and training in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Beijing, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Munich, Singapore, Sydney, Mexico City, Frankfurt, London, Paris and other major cities. Recently, she announced four global strategic alliances with firms in India, Australia, Europe and South Africa.

As a change management consultant, Margaret operates at the cutting edge of change, using research and consulting expertise to help clients envision the manager, employee and customer of the future. She works with her clients to help them lead change at every level and to give them a competitive advantage in the war for talent and provide the market insight to target products and services for an increasingly diverse and rapidly changing customer base.

As an executive coach, Margaret works with clients going through a change process to coach individual executives on leading the change . Having been the first woman executive in three different companies, she spends much of her time helping executives understand, recognize and address personal, style, leadership and behavioral issues. Her career as a corporate executive has informed her coaching experience. Upon entering a consulting career, she quickly became the coach for several CEOs who

were clients of Towers Perrin—and this continued, once she spun off The FutureWork Institute, as a strategic alliance of Towers Perrin, now Willis Towers Watson. She was trained in coaching as part of her Ph.D work at Fordham University.

To stay ahead of the learning and development trends, Margaret developed FutureWork Island, FutureWork Metaverse Conference Center and FutureWork Metaverse Training Center to engage clients in education and simulations in an immersive virtual reality world. She also developed the first Virtual Global Summit for 1,000 managers from Microsoft and Sodexo and created virtual conferences and training on the ON24 platform. Currently, she is spending a good deal of time presenting the implications of Artificial Intelligence for HR, DEI, Marketing, M&A and Corporate Digital Strategies.

Margaret was formerly a Partner and Global Practice Leader for Towers Perrin, where she led the Global Reinventing HR Practice and the Global Human Capital Management Practice. She was also the VP of HR at Con Edison in NY and the Executive Vice President of the NY Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Margaret established the New York Business Group on Health, a coalition of local employers, to address spiraling health care costs. She is currently the Chair of the International MultiCultural Institute and has been a member of the Governor’s Commission on Child Care, YWCA Academy of Women Achievers, the Commission on the Status of Women, the Workforce Task Force of the NYC Board of Education, and Chair of the Board of Education’s Advisory Council on Occupational Education.

Margaret has appeared on NBC-TV’s Today Show, CBS This Morning, NBC Nightly News, and CNN, to comment on emerging workforce trends. She has been frequently quoted in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and the South China Morning Post. She is featured on Close-Up TV as the CEO of “one of the most innovative businesses in the US,” in CNN/Money Magazine as the expert on future workplace trends and in Business Week for FWI’s creative approach to “my-job my-way”, “my-business our way” and “my perks my-way.”

Recent awards include: Promise of Innovation Award; Top 10 Inspiring Woman Entrepreneurs; Best Full-Service Workplace DEI Consultancy; Best Global Workplace DEI Consultancy; Global Award: Management Consulting USA, and EdTech Award Trend Setter.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brooklyn College, CUNY and completed her doctoral work at Fordham University.
