Maria is currently Vice President Merchandising and Strategy at Ulta Beauty. In this role she oversees the performance of a portfolio of brands with over $1B in sales and leads the strategy team that supports the Merchandising function at Ulta. With a broad business experience across multiple industries and functions, Maria is known for being a high impact change agent and a thought leader. Prior to her current role, she most recently led the Corporate Strategy team at Ulta Beauty and led the first ever acquisitions for the company, supporting the strategic priorities her team identified. She also worked at PepsiCo in various strategy and marketing roles and was a consultant at McKinsey & Co earlier in her career. She is originally from Colombia and has been living in the US for over a decade. Maria holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.
