Melis del Rey is the GM of Beauty, Baby and Beauty Technology for Amazon U.S. stores. This includes oversight of Amazon’s Premium Beauty, Luxury Beauty, Personal Care and Men’s Grooming businesses. Her responsibilities also include division level program leadership of Selection and Pricing for U.S. Consumables. Her mission is to make Amazon the most trusted Beauty destination and inspire customers through unique shopping experiences across an unlimited selection of premium and everyday products. In this role she is responsible for driving the business vision and technology innovation on behalf of customers.
Previously, for the past five years Melis led Amazon Beauty in the UK, developing it from its early days to a trusted go to, one-stop shop beauty destination for the UK shoppers. Melis is a seasoned leader with a career spanning two decades in the consumer goods and online retail industries. Having worked for multinational companies in a variety of leadership roles and countries, she is passionate about building and developing businesses globally and has proven track record in e-commerce, brand building, business planning, P&L management, and influencing key stakeholders to build support for common goals.
Prior to joining Amazon, Melis held several leadership roles at Procter & Gamble including overseeing marketing and sales of its beauty care brand portfolios in Europe. She holds a Ph.D. in New Product Development & Engineering Design, and a Bachelor’s of Engineering from Nottingham University, Nottingham UK.
