Member Spotlight: Chinenyem Nwadiugwu

Meet Chinenyem Nwadiugwu, Founder and CEO of She Biology, and a CEW member for the past three years. Based in Charleston, SC, Chinenyem founded She Biology as a psychodermatology-inspired skin care and wellness brand focused on ingredient transparency, slow beauty, and consciously sourced farm-to-face formulations.

Career Milestone: Opening the She Biology Concept Store marked a major shift in how Chinenyem approaches beauty, wellness, and community. Rather than creating a traditional retail space, she wanted to build a place where people could experience skincare as ritual, education, and emotional well-being in real life. She Biology has been accepted into the Ulta Beauty Marketplace!! We are currently are on Nordstroms, Macy’s, and Wolf & Badger online. Also in Wolf & Badgers LA and NY in-store locations.

The store quickly became a driver for wholesale conversations, brand awareness, and online growth. Having a physical space allowed buyers, hotels, wellness partners, and customers to interact with the products firsthand and experience the brand beyond social media, while in-store experiences also created content, word-of-mouth marketing, and deeper customer trust online.

Most importantly, the store reinforced the importance of community for Chinenyem. Through conversations around wellness, self-care, and intentional beauty, she learned that retail is no longer just about transactions but about creating meaningful experiences that can build long-term loyalty, visibility, and emotional connection.

Key Advice: One piece of advice that has stayed with Chinenyem is, “If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.” The mindset has reminded her that building something meaningful requires resilience, discipline, and the willingness to keep going even when the path feels uncertain.

She has also learned the importance of stepping away from outside noise and becoming clear about her own vision, values, and purpose. In a world filled with constant opinions and trends, that clarity has helped her make intentional decisions for both her career and the growth of She Biology.

Mentors: Chinenyem’s greatest mentor has been her mother, who always encourages her to pursue what feels impossible and think beyond limitations. Her mother’s belief in resilience, faith, and perseverance has shaped the way Chinenyem approaches both leadership and entrepreneurship.

She has also been influenced by mentors she has learned from through podcasts and interviews, including Emma Grede, Maggie Sellers, and Touré Roberts. Emma Grede’s journey has inspired Chinenyem to pursue hard work while creating a life and business rooted in joy, balance, and happiness, while Maggie Sellers has influenced the way she thinks about entrepreneurship, innovation, and the future of business. Touré Roberts has deepened her understanding of purpose and encouraged her to become more grounded in her “why” and pursue entrepreneurship in alignment with faith, integrity, and the Lord’s direction.

An in-person mentor who has made a meaningful impact on Chinenyem’s journey is Jacquie Berger of Lowcountry Local First in Charleston. Watching Berger lead with strategy and integrity has taught Chinenyem that strong leadership can require difficult decisions that may not please everyone but are necessary for the long-term health of a business.

Five-Year Career Goal: Over the next five years, Chinenyem hopes to expand She Biology into a globally respected skincare and wellness brand rooted in psychodermatology, ingredient transparency, and intentional community building. She wants to grow slowly and with intention while protecting the integrity of the brand, the quality of its formulations, and the experience it creates for its community.

One of her goals is to open a second She Biology concept store designed more like a skincare, wellness, and art gallery experience, where beauty, education, culture, and emotional well-being intersect. She also hopes to expand the brand’s wholesale and ecommerce presence through retailers such as Ulta Beauty, Moda Operandi, and Bluemercury while growing annual revenue to $3 million.

Alongside that growth, Chinenyem plans to expand the retail, wholesale, and production teams, scale warehouse and production capabilities, and strengthen She Biology’s direct relationship with customers through education and community experiences. Her long-term goals also include partnering with luxury hotels and spas around the world, creating scholarship or mentorship opportunities for women founders, and building She Biology into a strategically positioned brand that could become attractive for acquisition while remaining rooted in its mission, values, and community impact.

Best Networking Convo Starter: Chinenyem’s favorite networking conversation starters are, “I love what you’re wearing,” and “You’re literally glowing — what is it?” She has found that genuine compliments can instantly create warmth and connection, especially in the beauty and wellness industry, where self-expression, confidence, and wellness are an important part of how people show up.
