Member Spotlight: Dina B. Rosenbloom
Meet Dina B. Rosenbloom, CEO of Hairstory, and a CEW member for more than eight years. Based in New York City, Dina is a visionary industry executive with deep expertise in omnichannel sales and marketing. She specializes in high-growth brand building, turnaround leadership, and culture transformation across hair care, fragrance, and skin care.
Career Milestone: When Dina joined Hairstory, the brand already had a strong foundation and a clear mission, which was to change the way people wash their hair. Her role was not to reinvent that mission, but to give it a more current expression through a rebrand, including new packaging that made its flagship product, New Wash, even more enticing.
After 10 years of DTC operations and rewriting the hair stories of more than 1 million customers, Hairstory has expanded into brick-and-mortar retail and Ulta Beauty’s omnichannel business while continuing to focus on its hairdresser-first model. Securing the exclusive partnership with Ulta Beauty has helped Hairstory continue its mission of redefining how people wash and care for their hair.
Key Advice: One of the most meaningful pieces of career advice Dina received came after a high-achieving direct report made a mistake and was deeply disappointed in herself. Her VP encouraged her to congratulate the employee and tell her how impressed she was, pointing out that among all the projects and tasks she handled flawlessly, this was the only mistake she had made.
That experience changed how Dina viewed leadership and gave her a genuine understanding of what motivates people to do great work. It showed her the importance of recognizing the bigger picture when leading and supporting talented people.
Mentors: Dina’s most influential mentors came early in her career. At Bumble and bumble, then a small, change-making, professional-only brand, several pivotal leaders showed her what visionary, culturally transformative leadership looked like and taught her how to forge a unique path rather than follow trends.
Later, at luxury fragrance house Creed, Dina learned the importance of relationships with business partners and customers, as well as how to tell a story that resonates and inspires. She also credits Eli Halliwell, Hairstory Co-Founder and Chairman, with being pivotal throughout her career, beginning when they first met during her time at Bumble and continuing with his early and ongoing support.
Five-Year Career Goal: Dina’s goal is to create a new category in haircare and change the way people wash and care for their hair. Her long-term vision continues to build on Hairstory’s mission of redefining how people approach washing and caring for their hair.
Best Networking Convo Starter: Dina’s favorite networking question is, “What are you working on that you’re most excited about?” She uses the question to open a conversation around the projects and ideas that are currently energizing someone.
