The beauty industry continues to evolve beyond products and trends, with major companies making strategic moves to stay competitive. From leadership changes and new launches to shifting consumer preferences, these developments highlight the fast pace of change across the global beauty market.
As fall approaches, Tree Hut is giving its popular body-care products a seasonal update with a limited-edition collection inspired by favorite autumn desserts. The new lineup features scents such as Espresso Martini, Pumpkin Roll, Apple Crumble, Fireside Maple and Pecan Brûlée across products including sugar scrubs and foaming washes. One of the most interesting additions is Espresso Martini, which began as an April Fools’ social media idea before fans showed enough interest to turn it into a real product. The collection combines cozy, sweet fragrances with ingredients like shea butter, sugar and natural oils. Available at Target, Ulta Beauty and Amazon, the launch shows how social media and seasonal trends can influence new beauty products. (PR Newswire)
Following the rise of fragrance as part of everyday wellness, Ashley Tisdale is adding a new scent to her Being Frenshe brand inspired by one of her favorite daily rituals. Called Matcha Me, the fragrance combines matcha with bergamot, coconut, milk, vanilla and sandalwood to create a fresh yet comforting scent. Tisdale says her morning matcha routine helps her slow down, focus, and prepare for the day, which became the inspiration behind the fragrance. The scent also features Being Frenshe’s MoodScience technology, designed to support a feeling of focus. By turning a personal wellness habit into a fragrance, Tisdale continues to connect scent with self-care and creates a product meant to bring that calm, focused feeling into everyday life. As fragrance consumers become more interested in scents that last, Sol de Janeiro is introducing a new option between traditional body mists and stronger perfumes. Its Intense Perfume Mist collection offers longer-lasting versions of popular Cheirosa scents, promising up to 10 hours of wear while keeping the lightweight and easy-to-layer feel of a mist. The range includes updated versions of Cheirosa 62, 59 and 91, along with the new Cheirosa 74 Intense, featuring fruity, floral and warm notes. The launch reflects a wider shift toward fragrance that can be worn and layered throughout the day. By combining convenience with stronger performance, Sol de Janeiro is responding to consumers who want their favorite body scents to last longer without moving fully into traditional fine fragrance. As beauty and fragrance companies continue to evolve, strong leadership remains an important part of navigating change. DSM-Firmenich is preparing for a leadership transition as current Board Chair Thomas Leysen announces his retirement. The company has proposed Richard Ridinger, an independent director with experience across industries including personal care, health and pharmaceuticals, to take over the position. Shareholders will vote on his appointment at a special meeting in October. Leysen is stepping down after helping guide the company through major changes and challenging market conditions, saying the business is now in a strong position for a new chair. If approved, Ridinger will help lead dsm-firmenich into its next stage as the company continues focusing on growth and improving its overall performance. (Cosmetics Business)
