The 2024 Beauty Inc Awards took place at the Rainbow Room in New York City’s Rockefeller Center yesterday. Those in attendance at the ceremony included Blake Lively, who received the Newcomer Award, and Bobbi Brown, who was honored with the Pete Born Impact Award for her contributions to the beauty industry over three decades. “I’ve always been someone who thought that makeup is really simple, and that anyone could do their own makeup — it’s about teaching them how to do it,” Brown told WWD in a special report of the event.

In breaking news, LVMH Recherche — the Beauty R&D division of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) — has announced that it has partnered with Integrated Biosciences, to find novel, molecular, chemical entities to target aging, and help formulate science-backed skin care. “This represents a unique opportunity to evaluate thousands of potential bioactives concurrently, revolutionizing the pace of our research for the benefit of all our brands, amongst them our flagship – Maison Parfums Christian Dior,” said Bruno Bavouzet, president, LVMH Recherche.

The Estee Lauder Companies has unveiled a new BioTech Hub in Belgium. Located in Olen, close to Lauder’s manufacturing and distribution campus, the new hub will focus on manufacturing bio-based raw materials. Meanwhile, Weleda has opened a €90m zero emissions logistics center in Germany, which sets out to show the brand’s “commitment to sustainability.” The 100% emission-free facility is powered by solar and geothermal energy.

In product news, Glossier has dropped a limited-edition line-up of Shadow Sticks, inspired by the soft grunge looks of the ’90s and early ‘00s. Designed for smudging, the water-resistant formula comes in five shades and is available now.
