Shinery's Brea Fullerton Talks Building Brand Success, NIQ Reveals 2024's Fragrance Trends Of Note, Kecia Steelman On Her New Role As Ulta Beauty CEO, The Magnesium Body Care Boom, Credo Drops Body Products

Brea Fullerton is a shining example of how staying laser-focused in business can lead to long-term success. Today at CEW, the founder of the Atlanta-based indie jewelry cleaning brand Shinery talks about how she has built a range of six SKU’s which is now sold in more than 3,000 doors nationwide, including 100 Nordstrom stores. “The brand has an ongoing partnership with QVC and is Amazon’s top-searched brand name for jewelry cleaners,” writes CEW reporter Kavita Daswani, who sat down with Fullerton.

Also at CEW, we have a preview of a new report from NIQ on the major fragrance trends that blossomed in 2024. “Fragrance is quite unique in that it is seeing growth across both online and in-store outlets,” writes Melissa Hago for CEW. “It’s one of the few beauty categories to show growth in-store, as well as being one of the fastest growing online categories.”

Speaking of consumer trends, Spate reports a surge in demand for magnesium body care products in its new popularity index. According to Spate, creams and oils containing the ingredient are the fastest growing in the moisturizing body product category. Magnesium is strongly associated with nighttime routines, with the hashtag #bedtimeroutine averaging 44.9K per week. In other body care news, Credo Beauty launched Credo Body Care yesterday. Ten years in the making, the hero ingredient of the line-up is Sugar Kelp extract, ethically harvested through regeneratively-farmed kelp in Maine.

Following the announcement that Kecia Steelman has taken over at helm as Ulta Beauty CEO, succeeding Dave Kimbell, WWD has interviewed Steelman about her new appointment. “It’s been a crazy 24 hours, that’s for sure, but it’s been really exciting at the same time,” she said.

In brick-and-mortar news, Molton Brown has opened the doors to its first store in Indonesia. Located in Ciputra World Surabaya, a shopping center in the country’s second-largest city, it includes an interactive ‘fragrance playground’.
