Bridging the access gap for beauty and wellness entrepreneurs from under-served communities, the Maesa Magic Incubator has returned for its second year. At CEW today, reporter Faye Brookman talks to Piyush Jain, Maesa’s CEO, and Oshiya Savur, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, about this year’s program – which now also welcomes founders from low-income households – and what they look for from applicants. “Entrepreneurs need to be clear about why their brands need to exist in the world,” said Jain. “And how you can make an impact on the community you are trying to serve.”

Also at CEW, we report on the announcement that, for the first time, Cosmoprof is coming to New York, with the launch of “the biggest week in beauty” in October 2025. “Beauty New York aims to unite consumers, influencers, brands, and retailers for a week of networking and education opportunities,” writes Andrea Nagel. “The event will showcase innovations and trends, and create an inclusive environment for brand-consumer connections.”

In breaking fragrance news, Kristin Cavallari has unveiled Hard Feelings, her first unisex scent for Uncommon James. The clean, vegan, Leaping Bunny-certified fragrance drops on July 30. The brand anticipates reaching $2 million in sales for the fragrance during the fiscal year. Meanwhile, in skin care, Kiehl’s Since 1851 is debuting the 2-in-1 Discoloration and SPF Treatment with Auto-Tone, a new treatment containing L’Oréal’s patented Melasyl ingredient, which targets discoloration without affecting natural skin tone.

In executive updates, Vidacorp, the consumer beauty subsidiary of DBG Health Group, has appointed Meridith Rojas as the company’s new chief marketing officer. In her new role, Rojas will oversee VidaCorp’s North America’s brand and marketing strategy, for ranges including MCoBeauty, Nude by Nature and ESMI skin minerals. Meanwhile, in market news, Unilever has announced a 4% increase in net profits in the first six months of the year.
