New research by Ciphr, a HR software and eLearning content provider, has found that women are twice more likely than men to say their gender has made it harder for them to succeed at work. Ciphr surveyed over 2,600 U.K. workers and reported that one in seven female managers believe that their gender has made it harder for them to succeed at work, compared to one in 14 male managers.
In executive news, Sandbridge Capital has tapped Lynda Berkowitz for a new, senior advisory role. “I think of it more as going to a brand than going into finance,” commented Berkowitz, who was most recently CEO of Ilia. Meanwhile, Still Cosmetics has appointed Steve Rosen as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and David Reece as Chief Operating Officer (COO). “Steve’s financial background and strategic insight, paired with David’s operational expertise and deep industry experience, will play an instrumental role as we continue to reinvigorate and expand Stila’s presence in the global market,” said Michelle Kluz, CEO of Stila.
In other news, Estée Lauder has tapped renowned sleep expert Dr. Matthew Walker, PhD, as the brand’s first Global Sleep Science Advisor. Meanwhile, Walgreens Boots Alliance has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity affiliated with private equity firm Sycamore Partners. And on the other side of the pond, Space NK is to open a 4, 600 square foot new flagship London store at Oxford Circus this summer, billed as a “destination for beauty discovery.”
