As the Director of BFA Impact, Amber Stryker oversees all sustainability and social impact work at Beauty for All Industries (BFA), home to IPSY and BoxyCharm. With over 15 years of experience in the ESG space, Stryker has taken part in the global effort to grow this field to be an impactful force with the capacity to do good and move markets.
As BFA’s first ESG hire, Amber built the BFA Impact strategy from the ground up, partnering closely with the C-Suite, Chair of the Board, and the company’s passionate teams, who all play important roles to make BFA Impact a success. Since 2020, she has set ambitious goals for the company to reduce virgin plastic, increase representation of Black, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ communities, and create a Clean Beauty program.
With a background in international development and UN advocacy, Amber joined one of the first cause marketing programs in existence, the MAC AIDS Fund at MAC Cosmetics in 2010. This role turned into a career-defining experience, sparking her passion for corporate social responsibility. She went on to help build the Citizenship and Sustainability function at MAC’s parent company, The Estee Lauder Companies, where she launched the corporate foundation. She subsequently managed disaster relief and grants governance on a global scale at The Walt Disney Company before taking her current role at BFA.
Amber holds a Master of Public Administration from NYU Wagner and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Oklahoma. She co-chairs the Social Sustainability and Inclusion Working Group at It’s Planet A, the industry group formed from #CodeRed4Climate in 2021.
