Member Spotlight: Margarita Gomez-Nadin
Meet Margarita Gomez-Nadin, Regional Sales Director for the Western U.S. at Sunjin Beauty Science, USA Inc. A passionate advocate for sustainable beauty, education, and community impact, Margarita has dedicated her career to advancing innovation while creating opportunities for others to grow. Through industry leadership, mentorship, and volunteer service, she continues to champion a more inclusive and sustainable future for the beauty and personal care industry.
Career Milestone: One of the most rewarding aspects of Margarita’s career has been helping others succeed. Recognizing that many students, especially those from underrepresented communities, were unaware of the wide range of careers available in beauty and personal care, she helped establish the first West Coast cosmetic science degree program at the University of California, Riverside. She also served on its inaugural Advisory Committee and helped create a scholarship endowment to support future students. In addition to these efforts, Margarita has served as the 2022 California SCC Chair, inaugural Chair of the Madam C.J. Walker Scholarship and National DEI Committee, past President of Beauty Industry West, and most recently, Chair of the CASCC Suppliers’ Day Convention in Long Beach.
Key Advice: Margarita has received many valuable lessons throughout her career, but one that has stayed with her is that sometimes the best strategy is to pause, reset, and focus on how to achieve your goals rather than whether they are possible. She also believes in asking for opportunities with professionalism while always being willing to offer the same support to others.
Mentors: Margarita credits Linda Garcia with introducing her to professional organizations such as CEW, SCC, and Beauty Industry West, while teaching her the importance of advocating for clients and ensuring businesses of all sizes receive equal opportunities. She also recognizes Liz Streland for inspiring her commitment to volunteering, scholarships, and continuing education. Together, these mentors encouraged her to build a bigger table, embrace leadership opportunities, and create pathways for others to succeed. Their guidance reinforced the importance of giving back and using leadership as a way to make a lasting impact.
Five-Year Career Goal: Looking ahead, Margarita plans to expand educational opportunities for professionals at every stage of their careers. She is developing internship programs for early-career talent and creating workshops on LinkedIn, résumés, and career development for experienced professionals seeking new opportunities. She is passionate about helping others embrace emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and plans to continue supporting beauty brands in developing innovative, socially responsible ingredients and product concepts.
Best Networking Convo Starter: “Tell me something about yourself you wish more people knew about you.” Margarita loves this question because it encourages genuine conversations and often uncovers unexpected passions and experiences, creating stronger personal and professional connections.
