CEW: Why is CEW membership important to you?

Ryan Sieverson: Having a network in my industry is key to both my personal growth, and to the development of my company’s strategic outlook. The membership at CEW is the beauty industry’s best, and my choice to join stems from recognizing that most of the brilliant people I have worked with in my beauty career have been members themselves.

I also like what CEW stands for, and what it promotes. From recognizing emerging talent, awarding beautiful product innovation, and keeping a keen eye on future movements, I believe CEW brings to light and celebrates the most important aspects of our industry.

CEW: Do you have any tips for getting the most out of CEW membership?

RS: Like most any program, the more you access, the more the you participate, the more you communicate within the CEW community, the more you will get out of it. For me that means a daily check of the website, with special attention paid to the Insider’s section. We also use the Job Posting board, the community forum, and I make it my endeavor to attend each event, where some of the best minds and best speakers in the industry are featured.

CEW: What is the most exciting aspect of your current role?

RS: The most exciting work I am doing right now is in product development. Having grown up in Sales and Marketing I have always been very close to the end user. Now, with over 20 years of experience, and in a position to lead the process, I am thrilled to be working with chemists and perfumers to create products that are truly beautiful. I love product!

CEW: How do you spend your time when you’re not working?

RS: Living in Southern California affords me the opportunity to spend a great deal of time outside (read = BBQ!). My best free time is spent with my wife and four daughters on our patio, listening to the birds, and each other!
