“Balletcore Beauty” is the trend on everyone’s lips, following yesterday’s Chanel Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture show, opened by actress Margaret Qualley. The house ambassador and her fellow models walked the runway in Paris with glowing skin, defined brows and understated make-up; balletic black bows providing the chic finishing touch.
Back in the business of beauty, celebrating 25 years since she founded Tarte Cosmetics, Maureen Kelly begins The Tarte Kindness Tour, coming to 25 cities, beginning today. Los Angeles is the first stop of the touring event, which will feature branded trolley pop-ups, store drop-ins, giveaways, social media activities, and more. “Sephora and Ulta continue to be Tarte’s biggest retail partners, along with QVC,” reports Polly Blitzer at CEW, adding that TikTok Shop sales have soared “like a rocket ship” according to Kelly, speaking exclusively to CEW.
Sofia Vergara has been named Global Brand Ambassador for Schwarzkopf, in an aim to “build a stronger bridge between our Schwarzkopf professional expertise and our consumer business”, according to Vildan Cerci, senior vice president of marketing for Henkel, which owns Schwarzkopf. Vergara will appear in her first campaign for the company in March, called ‘What Story Will You Tell?’, designed to target both consumers and hair care professionals.
In executive news, CEW unpacks Grande Cosmetics’ settlement of the class action lawsuit filed against the company in November 2022. “Grande Cosmetics has agreed to pay $6.25 million, as well as to revise language on product packaging and the brand’s website,” writes Genevieve Monsma. “Grande does not, however, admit any wrongdoing and continues to deny the accusations in the filing.”
