Today at CEW, we turn the spotlight on the next key step in a cosmetics company’s MoCRA compliance journey: approaching its third-party logistics provider. In addition to understanding the existing laws regarding health and safety, MoCRA requires beauty brands to coordinate compliance with their external parties, too. Companies will need to know how to manage a recall with their third-party logistics (3PL) provider, as outlined in our special report.
On Tuesday, the beauty industry celebrated Nata Dvir, Macy’s Chief Merchandising Officer, at The Fragrance Foundation’s Circle of Champions Dinner in New York. The youngest executive to be at the helm in this role at Macy’s, Dvir follows in the footsteps of other honorees, including Artemis Patrick of Sephora, FIT’s Virginia Bonofiglio, and Linda Levy, President of The Fragrance Foundation. “When I think about Nata, I think of a visionary and a risk-taker; a dreamer and a changemaker,” said Julie Walsh, Senior Vice President, General Business Manager of Center Core and Beauty at Macy’s. “Nata has transformed Macy’s into the leading fragrance destination.”
In other fragrance news, Diptyque will open a Christmas pop-up from tomorrow at London’s St. Pancras International train station. The event will promote the brand’s limited edition holiday collection, featuring festive gift sets created in partnership with British felt artist, Lucy Sparrow. And speaking of all things festive, Amazon’s Holiday Beauty Haul event has gone live, enabling early Christmas shoppers to snap up special offers from brands including Dyson, CosRx, CeraVe, and Laneige, with prices starting at $4.
In sustainability news, Origins’ new Youthtopia skin care range comes in the brand’s new, eco-conscious packaging. Origins’ commitment includes a 35% reduction in plastics compared to its previous packaging, which is comparable to saving 2 million plastic water bottles. In addition, the company reports that 30% of its packaging materials are post-consumer recycled (PCR).
