Before joining Real Simple and Health, Muir Maffei was the Beauty Director at Fitness magazine, where she helped women incorporate beauty into their active lifestyles. Prior to joining Fitness, she held positions at Allure, Seventeen, and Cosmopolitan.

Heather has interviewed celebrities including Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian. Heather graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a focus on public relations and marketing.
